Dmitry Sholokhov was born in the Eastern European country of Belarus, a Slavic nation home to a modern and progressive population. Having a family who valued intellect and education, Dmitry was introduced to the fine arts, literate, music and dance from a very early age. Dmitry’s journey in the arts began with him practicing ballroom dance. He would even design costumes for himself and his friends, which planted the seeds for his passion in fashion design.

At the young age of 18, he saw a bright future for himself in fashion, so he set out for New York City to pursue his dream of becoming a world famous fashion designer. With the encouragement of friends and family, Dmitry enrolled and graduated from Parsons School of Design, earning his BFA in Fashion Design. He progressed so much in his studies, that we was offered internships at J. Mendel.
Upon graduation, he continued working at J. Mendel. He was immediately recognized by fashion professionals for his artistic capacity, personal charm and professionalism. Eventually Dmitry was recruited by Jones Apparel Group, which allowed him to work across several of their brands.

Dmitry departed from the Jones Group in 2012, with the goal of developing his own brand. His entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his talent for design and production, earned him a spot in the 10th season of Project Runway. During the Project Runway competition, he gained exposure with the public, thus building on his professionalism, grace, and poise, all while performing under a myriad of new pressures.
All three judges; Supermodel Heidi Klum, Fashion Giant Micheal Kors, Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia, praised Sholokhov’s designs, dubbing them as polished and sophisticated, highly editorial but wearable and sellable at the same time. He came out victorious, winning the 10th season of Project Runway
After his success on Project Runway, Dmitry presented and sold his exclusive capsule collection to Lord & Taylor in 2013. Thereafter, his Spring 2014 collection was featured in numerous fashion weeks around the world
In 2015 Dmitry Sholokhov returned to Television on Project Runway All Stars Season 4. This was another season filled with tense competition, and challenges set to test the creative limits of the best of the best in the world of fashion design. Dmitry once again proved to the judges he reigns supreme, and was crowned a double victor.
Dmitry Sholokhov now holds the title of both Project Runway winner and Project Runway All Stars winner. His business today focuses on private commissions and pursuit’s of partnerships with major retailers. He also recently unveiled his new affordable high-fashion brand to the world.
